Types of Carpets in Lake Macquarie

When it comes to carpets, you’ll always find exactly what you need at Independent Carpets in Newcastle, as we have a great range of products in store. From traditional wool carpets to more modern vinyl and polyester floor coverings, we can supply whatever you need at an affordable price. Our knowledgeable team can offer expert advice and recommendations, so you’ll always leave with the carpet that’s best for you and your home.

Wool Carpet

The most popular carpet type for many years, wool offers a hardwearing natural fibre surface that resists tracking or that flattening effect. Most Australian carpet manufacturers use wool from New Zealand, England, and Scotland for their carpets, because of the coarser grade and more durable fibre in this wool.

Solution Dyed Nylon

Solution Dyed Nylon or SDN is dyed using a different process from ordinary nylon, which is colour dyed from a continuous dying system. SDNs are coloured at the time of production, which means the fibres can be coloured all the way through, resulting in a more resilient shade. This means the carpet can be cleaned using stronger cleaning detergents without losing any of its colour.

Triexta

The latest technology in carpet fibres. Triexta is the easiest of all fibres to clean and provides the softest most luxurious feel underfoot. The polymer used to make Triexta carpets contains 37% annually renewable plant based ingredients, placing less reliance on non-renewable resources
